Le Chetelard

Le Chatelard have been making Marseille Market Soaps since 2004. Still made at their premises in the Drome region of Provence, all aspects of this Savonnerie are overseen local people, all experts in a specific area of production and a passion for ingredients and quality. A true family company that has diversified the Lavender Farmer of 1802 to the company they are today.
We love the range of fragrances, the very typically French colours and quality of this brand.

Who is it For?

For those that like their soaps wrapped, all these bars have come individually wrapped in fully compostable film.

What to Choose?

There are two ranges of Fragranced Soaps to choose from with most scents available in both formulas:

Palm Free Squares - these are richly formulated with Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Argan Oil.

Extra Gentle Rectangles - these are made with RSPO Palm and Sweet Almond Oil.

About the Brand

Developed as a Lavender Farm in 1802, the founding family created the brand Le Chatelard when they began selling lavender sachets direct to customers from a Market Stall in Nice in the 1990's. A necessary diversification to ensure the family business remained viable. Leap forward to 2004 and the next evolution began, the building of a soap factory on the original site in Saint Auban sur l'Ouvèze. Making their own soaps by hand, following the traditional recipe for Marseille soap this aspect of the business grew quickly and in 2012 they opened their first store in Nice.

Why French Soaps Love Le Chatelard 1802

We love that they get people like different formulations! We also love the very 'true' and 'honest' scents of all their soaps be they classic or contemporary fragrances.
