Rethinking Everyday Essentials
Apimani was founded in 2016 by Alexis and Thomas with a simple belief: everyday products can be designed better.
Coming from technology backgrounds rather than traditional manufacturing, they questioned why so many daily essentials remained wasteful, overcomplicated or poorly designed. Their answer was to create products that combine practicality, thoughtful design and environmental responsibility without sacrificing quality or appearance.
What began with a wooden toothbrush featuring replaceable heads has evolved into a wider collection of products designed to make everyday habits simpler, more durable and less wasteful.
Most products are designed to be consumed, Apimani designs products to be kept.
The company focuses on reducing unnecessary waste through better design rather than asking customers to compromise on functionality. Their approach is based on a simple principle: create objects that perform well, last longer and require fewer resources over time.
Rather than pursuing novelty for its own sake, Apimani seeks practical improvements to familiar objects and routines.
At the heart of the brand is a commitment to thoughtful problem solving. Each product begins with a question: can this be made simpler, more durable or more useful?
This philosophy can be seen throughout the collection. Materials are carefully selected, unnecessary complexity is removed and products are designed to integrate naturally into everyday life. The result is a range that feels practical rather than fashionable and purposeful rather than decorative.
Apimani places strong emphasis on proximity and transparency.
Where possible, production is carried out within France and Europe, helping to reduce transport distances while maintaining closer relationships with manufacturers and suppliers. This commitment reflects a broader belief that responsible production begins with understanding where products come from and how they are made.
The company openly acknowledges that every product involves compromises, but remains committed to continual improvement rather than claims of perfection.
Many of the most sustainable products are not necessarily the most complex.
Apimani's approach is often the opposite. By creating products that do more with less, use fewer materials and remain useful for longer, the company seeks to reduce waste through everyday practicality.
This emphasis on simplicity has become one of the defining characteristics of the brand and continues to guide product development today.
At French Soaps, we are drawn to products that solve genuine problems.
Apimani's rotating soap holders and accessories reflect many of the qualities we value in the makers we work with: thoughtful design, durability, practicality and an attention to detail that improves everyday life.
While very different from the traditional savonneries featured elsewhere in the Library, Apimani shares the same belief that well-made products should combine function, quality and longevity.
That makes it a natural fit within our collection.
